About the record

"Engine Room" is the debut full-length from Aria Machina, recorded over six weeks in a former turbine hall in Greenpoint. Eight pieces for voice, a Buchla 200e, a slowly leaking radiator, and the building's own resonant frequency. The hall is being demolished in September; this is what it sounded like.
